Collaboration with HBB

Kiwi Ears has collaborated with the Hi-Fi audio reviewer HBB (Hawaii Bad Boy) from Youtube’s Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews. HBB is one of the biggest global reviewers for IEM’s and headphones, and his extensive experience with Hi-Fi has helped develop this collaborative project. The Punch mirrors HBB’s love for quality bass, and is the perfect IEM for bassheads.

Strong Bass, Balanced Tuning

Staying true to Kiwi Ears’ dedication to tonal excellence, the Punch has been tuned to sound balanced and natural, despite its strong bass presence. The subbass has been precisely tuned with a clear subbass/midrange cutoff. This means, despite the large quantity of bass, the midrange is still neutral and free from muddyness or bloat. This makes the Punch an excellent on-stage monitor for drummers and bass-guitarists. The treble has also been tuned to accurately reflect a monitor-like sound, with a natural tonal curvature to mimic the human ears’ perceived frequency response.

Ultra-Treble Extension

The Punch features two imported Sonion electrostatic (EST) drivers per each side. This allows excellent extension of the ultra treble range until 40kHz. The Punch delivers even the most minute micro-detail in the music, all while sounding natural and professional. This makes the Punch fully extended in both the low and high ends of the frequency range.

Latest Knowles Balanced Armature Drivers

The latest iteration of American-made Knowles drivers are used to power the midrange of the Punch. The RAB 32257 series drivers feature an open-vented port that allows better airflow into the driver for a more full and robust sound.

Precision Engineering

The Punch is designed with a 3-way intuitive passive crossover network, with each driver type separated by 3 separate sound tubes. Our tuning strategy utilizes both passive signal network and acoustic crossover strategies to achieve a coherent and uncompromising sound.

Custom Paired Cable

The Punch comes with a high-quality custom cable featuring a 2-pin (0.78mm) connector type. The cable is interchangeable with others featuring the universal 2-pin connector type, allowing users to customize their listening experience as well as increase the longevity of their IEM.
